About Us
Home Aides of Rockland was established in 1969 in response to a growing need for homemaker and personal care services in Rockland County, New York. We have been providing services continuously since that time. As a not for profit organization, we are able to seek funding to support our various programs, including the Reduced Rate Home Care Program. This program provides financial assistance to clients who do not qualify for Medicaid, yet lack sufficient financial resources to afford needed home care services.
Licensed by the New York State Department of Health for the delivery of home health care services, Home Aides of Rockland is an approved training site for Personal Care and Home Health Aides. Accredited by The Joint Commission (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations), we received the coveted Gold Seal of Approval for maintaining the highest standards in the provision of home care.
Home Aides of Rockland is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who represent a cross-section of the business, health care and consumer communities. Our staff consists of highly experienced home care nurses and home care administrators, as well as a corps of caring and talented field staff who provide direct care to our clients.
OUR STAFF
Home Aides of Rockland staff receive special training in communication skills, diversity sensitivity, safety and infection control. They are taught to be socially sensitive, to respect their clients and their families, and to extend their compassion and care to the client's family and community.
Our aide staff, certified by the New York State Department of Health, undergo careful screening and pass a rigorous New York State-approved training program before they are accepted as employees. All aide staff members receive ongoing training and education.
